Wolves host Hurricanes in Men’s ACAA basketball action

This past weekend, the Men’s Seawolves hosted the Holland College Hurricanes. Friday night was game one of a weekend double header.

The Seawolves pushed hard in the first half, leading the nationally ranked Holland College Hurricanes, 40-38. That caused the Hurricanes to up their game and push back in the second half of the Friday night match up.

The Hurricanes defeated the UNBSJ Seawolves 106-69, to keep their undefeated streak alive this season.

Orlando Palmer had 24 points while DJ Wright added 18 points to lead the Hurricanes.

Liam Sipkema led the Seawolves with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Nick Huggard added 14 points.

Saturday night, The Holland College Hurricanes were able to hang on to an undefeated 12-0 record with a 106-58 win over the Seawolves in ACAA men’s basketball.

The Hurricanes swept the weekend series with the Seawolves and padded their lead at the top of the ACAA standings.

Five players scored in double digits for the Hurricanes. DJ Wright paced the balanced attack with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Terrence Brown scored 16 points, Orlando Palmer and Trevone Grant had 13 and Shawn Lucas added 10 points for the winners.

The Injury depleted Seawolves got a great game from Geoff Lemmon who scored 23 points. Liam Sipkema added 8 rebounds.

The Seawolves dropped to 0-9 for the season and sit in 7th place.
